How to Set Up a New Internet Connecting in Windows XP

To set up a New Internet Connection click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Communications > New Connection Wizard. The New Connection Wizard Dialog Box will pop up. Click Next. Check "Connect to the Internet" and click Next. Check "Set up my connection manually" and click Next. Check "Connect using a dial up Modem" and click Next. Type in your ISP name and click Next. Type in the phone number that you were given to dial in to and click Next. Type in the User name and password that you were given when you signed up for your connection and click Next. You can choose to add this shortcut to your desktop for easy access. Click Finish.

How to Create Private Folders in Windows XP

Do you have folders that you want to keep private and don't want anyone else to see them? Then click Start > My Computer. Double click to open your hard drive. Double Click your Documents and Settings folder to open it. Open your User folder. Right click on the folder that you want to make private and select Properties. Click on the Sharing Tab and check the box that says Make this Folder Private and Click OK.

How to Add Programs to the Start Menu in Windows XP

To add programs to the Start Menu right click on the program that you want to add to the start menu and select "Pin to Start Menu". That will add the program to the Start Menu.

How to Create a Boot Disk in Windows XP

Everyone should keep a Boot Disk around. To create a Boot Disk, insert a 3.5 disk in your drive, go to Start > My Computer. Right click on your Floppy Drive and select Format. When the options pop up select "Create an MS-DOS start up disk" and then click OK. You will have to use a few disk. It will tell you when to insert a new disk. Make sure you label the disk when you take it out. Boot Disk 1, Boot Disk 2, etc.
